This Is Where I Am Now

This piece is a look inside the dancer’s brain. As the choreographer, my end goal for this solo was to dissect and present the distinction between the many different facets that make up Arianna.
This solo was originally created a year ago for a proscenium stage with a duration of 23 minutes.
It has since been adapted for film. The creation process for this solo involved a lot of hands-on research both inside and outside of the studio to get a better understanding of the wiring that makes up Arianna.

I hope the take-away for the viewer is a visceral experience of sensory overload; transparency from the performer’s perspective to the audience’s perception; a dictation of the overwhelming reality that is life, not simply painting the cliché presentable moments but showing both the ugliness and the beauty.
